Love Is Not Easily Angered and Keeps No Record of Wrongs

Matt Brown Week 3

As Pastor Matt continues in 1 Corinthians 13, he dives into what God has to say about managing our anger and letting go of our hurt.

WHAT YOU CAN DO THIS WEEK

Think about the description of God’s love that says that love is not easily angered. Ask God to help you identify anyone you are angry with. How did they hurt or wrong you? Why is it difficult for you to forgive this person and release your anger to God? What negative consequences could happen if you do not work through your anger? Reflect on some of the ways you have hurt and wronged God and that He holds none of these things against you. What feelings and thoughts surface?

Explore the Love Is Series

What is love? There are a lot of conversations in our culture today about what it believes love is. A lot of these conversations are centered around ideas like tolerance or acceptance. There is a cultural need to understand what love really is and how it is meant to impact our lives. Through this series—Love Is—our church will be shaped by a developed picture of what love is through scripture (1 Corinthians 13) and, through God’s definition, respond to these cultural conversations around what love is.
