Becoming a Wise Builder

Alfredo Ramos

What if the way you respond to life’s challenges depends entirely on what you’re building your life on? In this message, Pastor Alfredo Ramos helps us take a hard look at the foundation of our choices, relationships, and beliefs. It’s easy to go through life reacting to storms as they come, but what if there’s a better way—one that helps you stand strong no matter what hits? Whether you consider yourself spiritual, skeptical, or somewhere in between, this conversation invites you to reflect, evaluate, and make lasting changes that bring clarity and strength to your life.

WHAT YOU CAN DO THIS WEEK

You might consider going for a walk, sitting outside, or settling into your favorite chair. Take a few deep breaths, inhaling slowly through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. Be present, release anything you’re carrying, and allow your mind to focus on God. Slowly read James 1:22-24, quietly speaking the words aloud to yourself. Do that a few times, paying attention to the different words and phrases. Are any words highlighted to you, almost lifting off the page? Linger on those, meditating on them as your prayer to God. When you’re ready, invite God to speak to you; to reveal or show you what He wants to say. Ask Him some questions like, “Lord, where do I hear Scripture but fail to put it into practice? In what part of my life do I have spiritual amnesia?” Allow these questions to simply be conversation starters between you and God. Speak to Him and listen for His voice.
