Prioritizing Your Possessions

“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man
discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold
everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field. “Again, the Kingdom
of Heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. When he
discovered a pearl of great value, he sold everything he owned and bought it!
Matthew 13:44-46 NLT

Generosity Frees Us:

store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them,
and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where
moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever
your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. Matthew 6:19-21

want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of
what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it
away from them. James
4:2 NLT

one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will
be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. Matthew 6:24 NLT

The generous will prosper; those who
refresh others will themselves be refreshed. Proverbs 11:25 NLT

blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God. Matthew 5:8 NLT

are also filled with abundant joy, which has overflowed in rich generosity. For
I can testify that they gave not only what they could afford, but far more. And
they did it of their own free will. 2
Corinthians 8:2-3 NLT

“You must set aside a
tithe of your crops—one-tenth of all the crops you harvest each year. Bring
this tithe to the designated place of worship—the place the LORD your God
chooses for his name to be honored—and eat it there in his presence… Doing
this will teach you always to fear the LORD your God. Deuteronomy 14:22-23

And I am praying that you
will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you
understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ. Philemon 1:6
