Financial Freedom

Financial
Freedom…

Begins
with following Jesus

As Jesus was starting out on his way to
Jerusalem, a man came running up to him, knelt down, and asked, “Good Teacher,
what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “Why
do you call me good?” Jesus asked. “Only God is truly good. But to answer your question, you
know the commandments: ‘You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You
must not steal. You must not testify falsely. You must not cheat anyone. Honor
your father and mother.’” “Teacher,” the man replied, “I’ve
obeyed all these commandments since I was young.”

Looking
at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him. “There is still one thing you
haven’t done,” he told him. “Go and sell all your possessions and give the
money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

At this the man’s face fell, and he went away
sad, for he had many possessions. Jesus looked around and said to his
disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God!” MARK 10:17-23

Is
sustained with new vision

Meanwhile,
Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord’s
followers…As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven
suddenly shone down around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying
to him, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?” “Who are you, Lord?” Saul
asked. And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting! ACTS 9:1-5 NLT

I’m
just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I’ve found
the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands
empty.  Whatever I have, wherever I am, I
can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.  PHILIPPIANS
4:12-13 NLT

Yes,
everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing
Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting
it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ. PHILIPPIANS 3:8 NLT

I can cling to crap or Christ but
not both

“No
one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will
be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” LUKE 16:13 NLT

Is finished when I develop a generous
heart

And
I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working
hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” ACTS 20:35 NLT
