Your Perfect Future

Jesus
teaches me to pray about my future

Then Jesus went with them to the olive grove
called Gethsemane, and he said, “Sit here while I go over there to pray.” He took Peter and Zebedee’s two
sons, James and John, and he became anguished and distressed.  He told them, “My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here
and keep watch with me.” He went
on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, “My Father!
If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want
your will to be done, not mine.” MATTHEW
26:36-39 NLT

I
can pray to God about my future because:

God knows the future

Remember the things I have done in the past.
For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me. Only I can tell you
the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I
do whatever I wish. ISAIAH 46:9-10 NLT

This is what the LORD says: “Do not act like
the other nations, who try to read their future in the stars. Do not be afraid
of their predictions, even though other nations are terrified by them. JEREMIAH 10:2 NLT

God can alter my future

Then he returned to the disciples and found
them asleep. He said to Peter, “Couldn’t you watch with me even one hour? Keep
watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is
willing, but the body is weak!” Then Jesus left them a second time and prayed,
“My Father! If this cup cannot be taken away unless I drink it, your will be
done.” When he returned to them again, he found them sleeping, for they
couldn’t keep their eyes open. So he went to pray a third time, saying the same
things again. MATTHEW 26:26-44 NLT

“Go back to Hezekiah and tell him, ‘This is
what the LORD, the God of your ancestor David, says: I have heard your prayer
and seen your tears. I will add fifteen years to your life. ISAIAH 38:5 NLT

My future
is in your hands. Rescue me from those who hunt me down relentlessly. PSALM 31:15 NLT

Worrying wont change my future

(Jesus asked) Can all your worries add a
single moment to your life?  And if worry
can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over
bigger things? LUKE 12:25-26 NLT

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you
need, and thank him for all he has done. PHILIPPIANS
4:6 NLT
