The Wave Walker

Immediately
after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross
to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people home. After sending
them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he
was there alone. Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land,
for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. About three
o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. When the
disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear,
they cried out, “It’s a ghost!”  MATTHEW 14:22-26 NLT

With Jesus I can overcome my
fears

But Jesus
spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!” Then
Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking
on the water.” MATTHEW 14:27-28 NLT

So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives
your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom. LUKE 12:32 NLT

But when
Jesus heard what had happened, he said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have
faith…” LUKE 8:50 NLT

I prayed
to the LORD, and he answered me.  He
freed me from all my fears. PSALM 34:4
NLT

With Jesus I can conquer
anything

“Yes,
come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the
water toward Jesus.  MATTHEW 14:29 NLT

But in
all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. ROMANS 8:37 NASB

For I can
do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. PHILIPPIANS 4:13 NLT

Without Jesus I will sink

But when
he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save
me, Lord!” he shouted. MATTHEW 14:30 NLT

In those
days you were living apart from Christ… You lived in this world without God
and without hope. EPHESIANS 2:12 NLT

Let us
strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily
trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We
do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus… HEBREWS 12:1-2 NLT

When I ask Jesus to save me he
will

Jesus
immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus
said. “Why did you doubt me?” When they climbed back into the boat, the wind
stopped. Then the disciples worshiped him. “You really are the Son of God!”
they exclaimed. MATTHEW 14:31-33 NLT

For
“Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.” ROMANS 10:13 NLT
