The Boots of Peace

So Jesus told them this story: “If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them
gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others in the
wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he will joyfully
carry it home on his shoulders. When he arrives, he will call together his
friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost
sheep.’
In the same way,
there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God
than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away! “Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and
loses one. Won’t she light a lamp and sweep the entire house and search
carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she will call in her friends
and neighbors and say, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost coin.’ In the same way, there is joy in the presence
of God’s angels when even one sinner repents.” Luke15:3-10 NLT

What
do you celebrate?

God
wants me to….

Celebrate
souls not goals

For though I am far away from you, my
heart is with you. And I rejoice that
you are living as you should and that your faith in Christ is strong. COLOSSIANS 2:5 NLT

But that doesn’t matter. Whether
their motives are false or genuine, the message about Christ is being preached
either way, so I rejoice. And I
will continue to rejoice. PHILIPPIANS 1:18 NLT

Pursue
people for Christ

For
shoes, put on the peace that comes
from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. EPHESIANS 6:15 NLT

Even though I am a free man with no master, I
have become a slave to all people to bring many to Christ … When I am with those who are weak, I share
their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find
common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. I do everything to spread the Good News and
share in its blessings. Don’t you realize that in a
race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their
training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an
eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not
just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training
it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I
myself might be disqualified. 1
CORINTHIANS 9:19;22-27 NLT

Demonstrate
God’s love to those who need it most

He lifts the poor from the dust and
the needy from the garbage
dump.  He sets them among princes,
placing them in seats of honor. For all the earth is the LORD’s, and he has set
the world in order. 1 SAMUEL 2:8 NLT

If someone has enough money to live
well and sees a brother or sister in need
but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person? 1 JOHN 3:17 NLT
