To be storm ready I must build my house upon
the rock
“Anyone who listens to my teaching and
follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the
rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that
house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears
my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on
sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it
will collapse with a mighty crash. Matthew 7:24-27 NLT
Building my house upon the rock will require:
The master builder
Unless
the LORD builds a house, he work of the builders is wasted. Psalm 127:1 NLT
I
cannot do this on my own
We
are not building our homes preparing for the storm, but constructing them in
the midst of one
The
LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find
protection. He is my shield, the power
that saves me, and my place of safety. Psalm 18:2 NLT
Hard work
…a person building a house who digs deep and
lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against
that house, it stands firm because it is well built. Luke 6:48 NLT
You cannot build a solid house without God,
and God will not build your house without you-
Laziness
leads to a sagging roof; idleness leads
to a leaky house. Ecclesiastes 10:18 NLT
Patiently Following God’s plans
