Shout at the Storm

As
evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of
the lake.” So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds
behind (although other boats followed). But soon a fierce storm came up. High
waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water. Jesus was
sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke
him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” MARK 4:35-38 NLT

Jesus cares deeply about my situation

Give
all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. 1 PETER 5:7 NLT

The
LORD cares deeply when his loved
ones die. PSALM 116:15 NLT

When
Mary arrived and saw Jesus, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if only you
had been here, my brother would not have died.” When Jesus saw her weeping and
saw the other people wailing with her, a deep anger welled up within him, and
he was deeply troubled. “Where have you put him?” he asked them. They told him,
“Lord, come and see.” Then Jesus wept. JOHN
11:32-35 NLT

Jesus is stronger than my storm

When
Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!”
Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. Then he asked them, “Why
are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” The disciples were absolutely
terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves
obey him!” MARK 4:35-41 NLT

There is nothing
weak about Jesus

Jesus
fully realized all that was going to happen to him, so he stepped forward to
meet them. “Who are you looking for?” he asked. “Jesus the Nazarene,” they
replied. “I AM he,” Jesus said. (Judas, who betrayed him, was standing with
them.) As Jesus said “I AM he,” they all drew back and fell to the ground! JOHN 18:4-6 NLT

Jesus wants me to trust in him

The
disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other.
“Even the wind and waves obey him!” MARK
4:41 NLT

“LORD,
help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He
calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves. PSALM 107:28-29 NLT

(Jesus
Said) “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. JOHN 14:1 NLT

Jesus invites me to shout at the
storm with his strength

In
your strength I can crush an army; with
my God I can scale any wall. PSALM 18:29

The
LORD gives his people strength. The LORD blesses them with peace. PSALM 29:11 NLT
