Real Bible Study

Read the Bible Slowly and Strategically

By reading one chapter a day, you will
read through the Bible every three years.

Study this Book of Instruction
continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey
everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.
JOSHUA 1:8 NLT

I can’t be an expert at everything, but I
can become one at a few things.

I meditate on your age-old regulations; O
LORD, they comfort me. PSALM 119:52 NLT

Extract God’s Main Thought or Point

You have been believers so long now that
you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again
the basic things about God’s word. You are like babies who need milk and cannot
eat solid food. HEBREWS 5:12 NLT

Apply It to My Life

So get rid of all the filth and evil in
your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it
has the power to save your souls. But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must
do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen
to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and
forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that
sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then
God will bless you for doing it. JAMES
1:21-25 NLT

What does
God want me to do?

For the word of God is alive and
powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul
and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and
desires. HEBREWS 4:12 NLT

But those who obey God’s word truly show
how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. 1 JOHN 2:5 NLT

Let It Out

We are
writing these things so that you may fully share our joy. 1 JOHN 1:4 NLT

And don’t
forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices
that please God. HEBREWS 13:16 NLT
