Jesus was betrayed by a close friend

Then the armed men seized Jesus to arrest him. […] Then they spat on his face and blindfolded him. Others struck him over and over with their fists and taunted him by saying, “Prophesy to us! Tell us which one of us is about to hit you next?” And the guards took him and beat him. MARK 14:46, 65 TPT

After he had Jesus severely beaten with a whip made of leather straps and embedded with metal, [Pilate] sentenced him to be crucified. MARK 15:15 TPT

They placed a purple robe on him to make fun of him. Then they braided a […] crown made of thorns, and set it on his head. And with a mock salute they repeatedly cried out, “Hail, your majesty, king of the Jews!” They spit in his face and hit him repeatedly on his head with a reed staff, driving the crown of thorns deep into his brow. They knelt down before him in mockery, pretending to pay him homage. When they finished ridiculing him, they took off the purple robe, put his own clothes back on him, and led him away to be crucified. MARK 15:17-20 TPT

They nailed his hands and feet to the cross. The soldiers divided his clothing among themselves by rolling dice to see who would win them. It was nine o’clock in the morning when they finally crucified him. Above his head they placed a sign with the inscription of the charge against him, which read, “This is the King of the Jews.” MARK 15:24-26 TPT

Jesus chose to endure so much bad for your good

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. ROMANS 12:1 MSG

Jesus is worth everything, because he gave everything

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. EPHESIANS 2:8 NLT

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. JOHN 3:16 ESV

For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” ROMANS 10:13 NLT
