Colossians 4:2-6

Making the Gospel GO

READ THE BIBLE SLOWLY AND STRATEGICALLY

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being
watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God
may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on
account of which I am in prison that I may make it clear, which is how I ought
to speak. Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let
your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how
you ought to answer each person. COLOSSIANS
4:2-6 ESV

EXTRACT GOD’S MAIN THOUGHT OR POINT

Talk to God about people; then talk to
people about God.

APPLY IT TO MY LIFE

I must pray for opportunities.

And this is the confidence that we have
toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if
we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests
that we have asked of him.  1 JOHN 5:14-15 ESV

God wants to do something in you through prayer.

I must prepare for opportunities.

[Pray] that I may make it clear, which is
how I ought to speak. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt,
so that you may know how you ought to answer each person. COLOSSIANS 4:4,6 ESV

The Bible assumes that all believers will share their faith.

The one-verse Gospel: For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. ROMANS 6:23 ESV

I must participate in opportunities.

Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the
best use of the time. COLOSSIANS 4:5 ESV
